“This is my fourth year being natural, but I had a second big chop. Sometimes you get tired of the journey and want to chop it off again. I try not to be defined by my hair, however. I was at a point when I worked in corporate America where I realized how much I was relying on traditional standards of beauty. I really felt defined by my hair and what it should like according to other people. I didn’t like having that feeling, so I chopped it off. I went to work one day and people were like, ‘oh, hi.’ The response that I received let me know that I was doing the right thing. I was being a lot more expressive and authentic. These are the things that I teach my clients in my business. I actually have two businesses. Memory Maker Inc. (MMI) was established in the winter of 2016. It grew from the experiences that I was providing clients through my first business, That Someday Is Tonight which I’ve had for over ten years.
That Someday is Tonight is a styling firm that focuses on events, people and interiors. Memory Maker Inc. is a more personalized experience for people who recognize that memories can be made each and every day. We help people appreciate that you don’t need to wait for a birthday, anniversary or national holiday to make someone feel special. I find that many people have great intentions when showing their loved ones that they care, but don’t know how to execute it in a meaningful way. And that’s where Memory Maker Inc. comes in because when you make a memory for someone else, you make a memory for yourself.”
